My hubby and I are going to San Francisco to celebrate his return from a yearlong stay in Afghanistan. While in Boston on our honeymoon we had the best Lobster cooked in a ginger sauce that we ever tasted. He is looking to experience the same in San Francisco. So far I have only found one Chinese restaurant that even serves lobster. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Only one Chinese (actually Chinoise, or French/Chinese fusion) restaurant in San Francisco that consistently serves lobster: Tommy Toy’s. The food is delicious, and it is a very elegant evening out.

A great option to consider if that’s the sort of thing you like is Bong Su. Not Chinoise, but French/Vietnamese. Although they don’t currently have lobster on the menu, they do have an amazingly delicious menu that includes things like huge fresh diver scallops and prawns. It’s slightly less formal (and less expensive) than Tommy Toy’s, but the service is still the best I have seen in many years. And it’s a very fun place that is one of the hottest new restaurants in SF – with the best signature cocktail list in town!
